Thebes Grade 1 is a profoundly atmospheric and complex attar that defies categorization. It opens with a crisp, aldehydic brightness — sharp white florals and bergamot mingling with a cool, papery orris and a subtle smokiness — creating an immediate sense of ancient, timeless space, like stepping into a forgotten Egyptian temple. Over time, it deepens into a rich blend of animalic musk, vibrant amber, and dusty vetiver, layered with a cool, almost herbal iris that gives an eerie, damp quality. The drydown is slow and evolving, marked by a yielding presence of salty ambergris, leather, and deep floral warmth — quite dense, meditative, and often described as melancholic, somber, or even spiritual. It carries a distinct sense of solitude and mystery, making it less about seduction and more about immersion in an ancient, weathered world.
