L'Extase Rose Absolue is a rich, jammy rose fragrance with a bold, gourmand character that lingers powerfully. It opens with a sharp, spicy blend of black and pink pepper, which some find overwhelming, though it settles into a deep, warm, and sweet bouquet centered on Taif rose. The rose is dense and velvety, described as syrupy with notes of dark red wine, Turkish delight, and sweetened rose petals. Gourmand warmth comes from vanilla, benzoin, and musk, adding depth and a creamy, almost edible quality. Though it shares a lineage with Francis Kurkdjian’s Oud Satin Mood, it is distinctly more feminine and sweet, lacking the true oud presence. The base remains luxurious and long-lasting, with strong projection and a heavy sillage that can fill a room even after hours. It is highly recommended for colder weather and formal or evening occasions, suitably elegant for night wear and effervescent for those seeking opulent, dramatic scents.
