Sable Fauve is a warm, gourmand amber fragrance centered around benzoin, with tonka bean and labdanum providing depth and a hint of leathery resin. The scent opens with a sweet, slightly medicinal note before settling into a softly smooth, honeyed amber and vanilla-like richness, dominated by benzoin rather than true vanilla. It evokes a feeling of cozy richness that works well in autumn and winter, though some find it too sweet for summer. The fragrance has moderate sillage and lasts moderately, with noticeable fading after a few hours. It bears strong similarities to Black Opium in dry down, with a spicy, sweet oriental foundation, and has been compared to So Elixir Bois Sensuelle for its softer, skin-velvet quality. Its performance is consistent but not exceptionally long-lasting, and some note that it fades quickly on skin despite lingering on fabric. It is widely considered more feminine than unisex, though it appeals to those who appreciate a velvety, sweet, quietly seductive aroma.
